WOW, the views were magnificent, our first sunrise was amazing. We had some rain one day and after the rain the sun came out and so did a double rainbow! When we got up for the sunrise after the rain the clouds were down in the valley and this sunrise was even more spectacular! We hiked to the top of Yonah, directly from the cabin, we did Helen, Ruby Falls, the Stoval Mill covered bridge was lovely. We did the Sunburst RTV ride up to the top of a mountain, they had baby goats and we all fell in love with them. We tubed the Chattahoochee, and we did Babyland, we shopped and on our last night we had dinner at Pauls steakhouse, the food was good. We loved it so much we asked to stay an extra day! Overall Alan was easy to communicate with and responsive and we had a great time! We all want to go back next year lol! Thank you Alan & family for sharing your home with us, we know why you love it so much!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay and cannot recommend this property highly enough. The cabin was spotless, comfortable, beautifully maintained, and even better than described. The mountain setting was peaceful and relaxing, with stunning views that we enjoyed every day from the porch. We especially loved spending time outdoors, whether relaxing in the hot tub, gathering around the fire pit, or simply taking in the beauty of the surrounding area. The home was thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed, and it was clear that a great deal of care had gone into creating a welcoming and memorable guest experience. The little touches throughout the cabin made it feel warm and inviting from the moment we arrived. Communication was excellent, and the host was friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay. My family and I stayed at Alan’s cabin for Christmas 2025, and it was just absolutely wonderful. Alan was sure to have a Christmas tree up for us. The picturesque mountains were the perfect backdrop for Christmas morning when the kids came to see what Santa left for them. The cabin is also a very short drive to the town of Helen. Loved getting over there to ride the little train and see the Christmas lights! The cabin was also very clean and had everything we needed. Communication with Alan was very smooth. We’ll be sure to book again next time we’re in Helen!

If you plan on visiting Helen, GA I highly recommend staying at this cabin. We came to visit Helen for a little summer vacation getaway. Once we arrived to the cabin, let me tell you the mountain views were spectacular from the cabin deck! The attention to detail and cleanliness in the cabin made it feel like home. Alan was a fantastic host, very accommodating and quick to respond with any questions we had. He even sent us an email with his family’s favorite things to do in the area. It’s just a 10 min drive to local grocery stores, restaurants and downtown Helen. I would definitely stay here again!

Alan’s place was perfect! Extremely close to downtown Helen and multiple wineries. The view from the cabin is top notch. Stunning location. The beds were very comfortable, bathrooms were stocked and clean and kitchen had almost everything you need to make meals. Blackstone produced the most beautiful steaks I have ever cooked. Overall, it was a great weekend and we look forward to our future stays!

This cabin is even more beautiful in person! Wow! The furniture pieces were absolutely gorgeous, the bed provided the ultimate sleep experience, and the view from the deck was what I referred to as a "10 Million Dollar View". We dined at Harvest Habersham, at Farm-to-Table restaurant just minutes away. The cornbread appetizer and the Ostrich steaks were just perfection. Helen was just a few minutes away, which made it easy to do the touristy stuff. We hiked up to Anna Ruby Falls the second morning of our trip after a nice breakfast. Super Baked Pizza is maybe a mile from the gate of this property. This was the best pizza I'd ever had. We ordered "Everything but the Kitchen Sink Pizza". The cabin, the property, the views, and all of the experiences we had could not have been more perfect. Thank you, Alan for a dreamy weekend visit!

For starters, Alan is a great host that communicates very well and made check in a breeze. He also included a lot of information about the local area that we found helpful. The place itself could not be in a better location. The view from the porch is better than advertised. The sunrises are an incredible display from the top floor loft. The house was spotlessly clean and well-appointed with comfy king bed, pillows, towels, etc. The hot tub and gas fireplace was a nice touch. My wife and I came up here for a romantic "baby-moon" that was our last trip before our daughter is born. We're glad we stayed here and would come again. Thanks Alan!

This place has it all. I cannot say enough about this cabin. Number one....THE VIEWS. You feel like you have been dropped into another world! Plenty of seating outside to enjoy it! The INTERIOR. Just the furniture alone is so rich with character. Plenty of lighting to choose from (I'm a sucker for that). There is some darn good hiking on Yonah directly from the cabin. We did it and then rested our legs in the hot tub looking over the mountains. Does it get much better than that? I don't think so. Alan has also put an amazing flat top grill outside. We used that thing every night...sat back and enjoyed the television from the nice leather couches (where you can also see the views from). If you sleep upstairs, the sunrise peeping through the A-frame looks like it belongs in a movie. This place exceeded my expectations. I am truly amazed at how wonderful an experience this was. All around amazing stay! We spent our mornings and evenings watching the sun rise and set on the beautiful deck and spent our days exploring the local area. The location of the cabin is prime and is located right between Cleveland and Helen which made all of our adventures very accessible. The cabin itself was just as pictured with the beautiful rustic cabin feel. Amenities were great and Alan was flexible and communicative when two of our guests had to cancel. We had the best time while staying here and we were so glad we got to come back and relax in the cabin after long, full days of exploring and I can’t recommend it enough!

You will not be disappointed. The views are priceless. It is quiet and ever so peaceful. The cabin is so incredibly gorgeous, spacious and extremely clean. Our mouths were wide open when we walked through the front door. We had no idea it would be this beautiful. Plenty of kitchen ware, pillows and linens. You will not find better water pressure in the shower anywhere. Oh, it was the best! We highly recommend this cabin and hope to return again soon!

We loved the cabin! The location was private and peaceful, with an amazing view and direct access to hiking trails. Inside the cabin it felt very homey and comfortable and was very well kept and clean. The location is great with quick routes to surrounding towns to explore. We hope to come back again!

Where to begin..... this cabin is spectacular!!!!!! And what an amazing view and truly peaceful. This cabin is everything that I wanted and so much more. Very clean.... the hot tub water super clean and relaxingly hot. I had seen some reviews that said they wished the back deck was more private but we found that the trees were dense enough that we had all of the privacy that we could have wanted! A few suggestions I have though. Wear thick soled walking shoes as the road is all rocks. Road going up to the house is very steep, be ready! If you are bringing up a trailer I highly recommend parking it at the bottom of the hill ( I read somewhere that there is a place you can park it). There are some good restaurants in the town of Helen and some touristy stores to wander through. One day in the town you have seen everything. Check out Anna Ruby Falls..... it is a half mile hike to the falls but so well worth it!!!!!! Highly recommend the cabin and area, truly amazing stay!!!!!

What a spectacular cabin getaway! I thoroughly enjoyed waking up every morning to see the sunrise, then drink coffee on the deck where I could only see beautiful vistas, and end the day by relaxing in the hot tub. When we arrived (it was already dark, but the directions were super clear!), the lamps were on inside and it made us feel so welcome. The hot tub was already warm too! The location is ideal for being close to hiking, Helen, and local breweries and wineries. My only regret is not staying longer and not bringing the dog. She would’ve loved it!

I have to say, I have stayed in many cabins over the years and by far, this cabin had the best view of any I have ever stayed. So many times you arrive at your cabin only to discover that the pictures are dated and trees have since grown up into your view, but that was not the case at Soaring Hawk. Absolutely the most beautiful view I have ever enjoyed of the fall foliage over the mountains. And the cabin is appropriately named as we saw many hawks soaring nearby during our entire stay. The cabin is cozy and all of the amenities made our stay as comfortable as possible. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking to stay in the Helen area. It is convenient to both Helen and Cleveland, great restaurants, shopping, etc.

Alan's place was very comfortable and clean. The views were breathtaking. The home had everything we needed. We loved the hot tub, the grill was great we had breakfast and dinner on it. The beds were very comfortable especially the bed upstairs it was like sleeping on a cloud. We couldn't ask for a better place to go to and just relax and enjoy time away from daily norm. We meet the maintenance guy he was very polite and professional, he asked us about our stay and if we had any problems. We enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave that beautiful breathtaking view. We stayed at Alan’s cabin over Father’s Day weekend with our daughter. It was a wonderful experience. The place was very cozy and thoughtfully decorated. From the deck you get an unobstructed view of the mountains. It means in the morning, you can have a cup of tea and watch the sunrise in absolute serenity. If your looking for a mountain getaway that encompasses the spirit of the Blue Ridge Mountains, you have found it in Souring Hawk. This beautiful and spacious log home delivers not only a decor that is charming, but the view is amazing. To sit in the hot tub, after a long day of sightseeing, overlooking this spectacular view was one of the highlights of my day. The home was very clean, the beds comfortable and the water pressure strong. You can not go wrong choosing this mountain retreat.

My family of four loved our time at Soaring Hawk Cabin. It was clean, cozy, and comfortable. The mountain view from the deck was beautiful and we saw some beautiful sunrises. The location was perfect: quick ride to Helen, beautiful trails, and vineyards. My children have pet allergies, but there were no traces of pet dander and the linens were fresh and clean. We felt right at home from the minute we walked in. We also appreciated Alan's communication!

The location of this beautiful rustic mountain home is what truly sets it apart. The view & outside deck (with the sunken hot tub) & fire pit, is amazing! The loft upstairs with the king-sized bed, large master bath, & walk in closet is probably the best feature of the inside of the home. There is a large window looking out at the beautiful scenery/majestic mountain view from the loft as well.......a truly gorgeous view! The bedrooms downstairs are small and challenging to fit a port-a-crib (we had a 3 and 1 year old with us), so we had to adjust sleeping arrangements (which made any type of social entertaining/TV/game playing late nearly impossible for fear of waking the sleeping child in the loft)......Otherwise, the house is decorated beautifully with special Fall decorations and an overall homey atmosphere! (However, if you're opposed to taxidermy, you may want to reconsider renting Soaring Hawk......) Even though the kitchen was very small, it had necessary appliances, dishes, etc. We would definitely return to beautiful Soaring Hawk...!!

Beautiful cozy space with breathtaking views, nestled on the mountain side! We weren't wanting for anything. Everything one could possibly imagine they would need was well thought out and readily available. A very detailed list of things to do, places to see, restaurants and local stores to purchase personal items and groceries was composed. Alan was an amazing host. He responded immediately when there was a need to contact him, which was greatly appreciated. Thank you Alan! The area murmurs with much history! Soaring Hawk is perfectly located as a home base to explore northern Georgia and the Blue Ridge mountains. A week was not nearly enough to see it all. We highly recommend Soaring Hawk to anyone looking for an urban rural mountain get away!

Well equipped, comfortable, with a superior view! I stayed 5 days with my two young children, my two dogs and my mother. The cabin is fairly easy to find, plenty of parking, and easy to access. The beds are very comfortable, the bathrooms sufficient and the kitchen even includes a crock pot. I really appreciated the detailed instructions on using the tv system. It poured during most of our visit, so we didn’t do much exploring, except for a brief sunny time when I walked the dogs down the gravel road. My kids enjoyed the hot tub then as well. And in regards to that, bring your own towels along if you normally use a bunch. With kids, we do. As this is a home used by the owners, there are a lot of decorative items in place. I relocated most of them to safer places while we visited, but just be aware if you bring dogs or small children. Mine are 5/8, and I held my breath for a bit. Alan's cabin was amazing! We had packed a few extra things (griddle, potato peeler, grill cleaner, coffee pot) but we didn't even have to unpack them as the cabin had everything we needed! We were busy during the day going to waterfalls and outdoor activities, but at night we loved coming back to the cabin to take in the AMAZING views from the deck and sitting in the hot tub at night and watching the bright stars. The beds were so comfortable and it was just right for our family of five. They had televisions in each bedroom and in the living room, but we honestly didn't even turn them on as we loved doing other things (cooking, reading, relaxing, and playing board games) in the cabin. It may look a bit outdated from the outside, but this cabin is great on the inside. There are some cabins close by, but we did not see anyone else the entire week we were there. We decided to "splurge" this vacation and get this cabin and we do not regret it at all! Thanks Shane, for the great review so glad your family enjoyed your time at Soaring Hawk, which is a typical log cabin, specifically designed to look old and fit into the mountain vernacular, but with all modern conveniences, inside. Stayed a few nights
First off, let me start by saying the owners are the sweetest and most accommodating people. Not only do they provide TVs in all the rooms but they also have a fully stocked kitchen with an abundance of utilities. The smart tv is easy to connect to once the WiFi is engaged on your device. The hot tub gets warm enough to have a relaxing dip late at night to wind down, just keep a towel near by it can get really chilly once you step out. The view of the mountains is by far one of the best you’ll get just sitting at home relaxing in the living room. There is a washer and dryer to do laundry if needed and fully functional dishwasher, because who wants to do dishes on vacation, right haha. This home has been one of the best vacations I’ve ever been on. The owners send tips and local gems to help guide your visit. All together this is a wonderful place for a second honeymoon, family vacation, or just some “you” time away from everything.
